箸ってどう持つの?

Japanese use chopsticks(Hashi*) daily,to eat most food.Even in some Western-style restaurants, chopsticks are offered alongside spoons,knives and forks.In Japan, it is said that「you can see people's personal background and upbringing from the way they handle chopsticks.
Using chopsticks properly gives you a more elegant impression.
*Hashi (you can also call them OHASHI,which is the more polite way)

日本では食事の時に、普段からはしを使います。洋食のレストランでもスプーン、フォーク、ナイフだけでなく、箸が用意されていることが多いです。日本では「箸さばきを見れば、その人の育ちや人柄がわかる」と言われるほど。箸を上手に使えると上品な印象を持たれます。

Let me explain how to use chopsticks briefly.

箸のもち方を説明します。

1. Hold one chopstick slight up from the middle of it, like you hold a pencil with your dominant hand .

2. Put the second chopstick between the bottom of your thumb and your ring finger.

3. Finally, line up the tips of these chopsticks and put your middle finger between them. Now you are holding them correctly!

When you use chopsticks,don't move your thumb or your ring finger which is holding the lower stick. You only use the upper chopstick with your middle finger and your index finger.

Grab your food between the lower and the upper chopsticks and eat it.

1.利き腕で1本目を真ん中より少し上で、エンピツのように持ちます。 
2 .2本目を親指のつけねに通して、薬指の上にのせて支えます。 
3.最後に2本の箸の先を揃えて、その間に中指をいれると完了。
 4.使う時は親指と下の箸を支える薬指は動かさないで、箸の間にある中指と人差し指で上の箸を動かします。上手に料理を挟んで、口に運びます。
